Textile Industry Leader Ye Shou-Tuan Passes Away, Jih Sheng Enterprises to Elect New Chairman

Renowned chemical fiber manufacturer, Jih Sheng Enterprises (1455), announced on Monday (21st) that Chairman Ye Shou-Tuan has passed away, and an extraordinary board meeting will be convened to elect a new chairman. The company stated that operations will be handled by representatives, with professional managers accountable for various functions, ensuring no impact on business.

Founded in 1969 by Ye Shou-Tuan and associates, Jih Sheng once became the second-largest nylon manufacturer in Taiwan. By April 2021, the company's capital expanded to NT$5.316 billion, specializing in nylon pellets, yarns, and polyester processing, gaining significant market recognition.

In 2019, Ye and General Manager Su Pai-Huang began restructuring the company’s operations, reducing raw material inventory substantially to minimize the impact of market fluctuations. Although stock prices soared to NT$26.5 in May 2021, they have recently fallen to NT$9.25. The office is still located near Dihua Street, where Ye started his business.

Ye addressed the challenges posed by the Russo-Ukrainian war, which have disrupted the market, yet he remains optimistic about the company's future performance.
