TECO Expands Transformer Capacity with New Plant in Guanyin Set to Launch by End of 2027

TECO (1504) Chairman Li Ming-hsien announced at the shareholders' meeting that the company is actively pursuing overseas market expansion, focusing on the AI data center demand in North America and Southeast Asia. With the decommissioning of the Nuclear Power Plant No. 3, Taiwan faces increasing challenges in electricity supply and demand, which Li sees as an opportunity for the company's power and energy business.
General Manager Gao Feiyuan stated that the Zhongli plant will expand its transformer production capacity in phases, with 69kV power transformers set to be produced in October, expecting to achieve a full production value of NT$200 million by the second quarter of 2026. The new Guanyin plant is scheduled for production by the fourth quarter of 2027, with an estimated annual output value of NT$1 billion in the first phase and increasing to NT$1.3 billion after expansion.
Regarding overseas markets, Li emphasized the significant demand for AI infrastructure in both North America and Southeast Asia, noting that acquisition plans will continue into the second half of the year. He also mentioned that exchange rate fluctuations have a limited impact on overall operations, but ongoing attention is required to monitor global economic changes.
