Will the New Taiwan Dollar Continue to Rise in June? Bank Executives Highlight Three Key Dates

The New Taiwan Dollar exhibited a strong appreciation in May, rising by 6.98%, marking the largest monthly increase in over 36 years. As June begins, the market is keenly observing the currency's trend. Bank officials stated that three key dates need watching:
- The first is the outcome of the FOMC meeting on June 18;
- The second is the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on the global tariff policies led by Trump;
- The third is the release of the report on currency manipulation, with the Taiwan Dollar expected to oscillate around the 30 NT$ level in early June.
According to the Central Bank's statistics, the New Taiwan Dollar strengthened by 2.088 NT$ in May, boasting a 6.98% increase, the highest monthly gain in over 36 years. So far this year, the dollar has risen by 9.53% against the U.S. dollar. Bank officials emphasized the necessity of observing these three pivotal dates affecting the currency's performance in June.
