Trump Slams Powell as U.S. Stocks Plummet, Taiwan Market Opens Below 19,000
U.S. President Donald Trump has once again criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for not lowering interest rates, causing market unease. U.S. stocks opened lower on Monday and fell for the fourth consecutive trading day, with the Dow plummeting nearly 1,000 points.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange opened today (22nd) down 115.34 points at 18,990.86, breaching the 19,000 mark. It dropped as low as around 18,880 points. TSMC opened down 9 dollars at 826 dollars.
