CPC Announces Price Cuts: Gasoline and Diesel Prices to Drop by NT$1.1 and NT$1.4 Tomorrow

CPC Corporation, Taiwan announced today (April 4) that starting from midnight tomorrow (April 5), the prices of gasoline and diesel will be reduced by NT$1.1 and NT$1.4 respectively. The reference retail prices will be NT$27.2 per liter for 92 unleaded gasoline, NT$28.7 for 95 unleaded gasoline, NT$30.7 for 98 unleaded gasoline, and NT$25.7 for super diesel.

CPC mentioned that the decrease in international oil prices this week, along with the appreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar against the US Dollar, has led to the adjustment of gasoline and diesel prices based on the floating pricing mechanism. This new pricing is lower than that of neighboring Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore), and calculations show that the price of 95 unleaded gasoline is below NT$30, not triggering the stabilizing measure threshold. The actual domestic prices for gasoline and diesel are now reduced by NT$1.1 and NT$1.4.

Additionally, based on oil price formulas and the government's reduction of commodity tax (NT$2 and NT$1.5 per liter for gasoline and diesel respectively), domestic oil prices will continue to adjust, maintaining the lowest prices among neighboring countries and implementing stabilizing measures to help stabilize domestic oil prices. As of the end of April this year (2025), CPC has absorbed a total cost of approximately NT$4.116 billion.
