U.S. Non-Farm Jobs Surpass Expectations, U.S. Indices Open Strong, Taiwan Futures Rise

The U.S. non-farm payroll report for April showed an addition of 177,000 jobs, exceeding expectations. This positive news prompted the three major U.S. indices to open approximately 1% higher. Within 10 minutes of the opening, the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged over 450 points to 41,207, a gain of 1.12%. The S&P 500 rose by 1.14% to 5,668 points, while the Nasdaq increased by 0.99% to 17,885 points.
Additionally, European indices also climbed, with increases ranging from 1.13% to 2.19%, particularly strong in Germany. Taiwan futures rose by 104 points post-trading, reflecting a 0.5% increase to 20,786 points.
