Over 5,000 Workers Rally at Ketagalan Boulevard for Minimum Wage Adjustment to 32K and Hourly Wage of 210

On Labor Day, more than 5,000 workers gathered at Ketagalan Boulevard to voice their concerns over current wage conditions. This year’s theme, 'Against Bullying, Seeking Protection,' highlighted seven demands, including raising the minimum wage to 32K and the hourly wage to 210 NT. Additionally, nearly 300 healthcare workers participated, criticizing low wages and overwork leading to a collapse in the medical system.
The rally saw families join in, marching along Park Road, Zhongxiao West Road, and Zhongshan South Road before returning to Ketagalan Boulevard. Dai Guorong, Chairman of the National Federation of Trade Unions, emphasized the need for a systematic increase in the minimum wage to change the trend of low wages in Taiwan, hoping for a nationwide holiday next year that is not job-specific.
Healthcare representatives performed a skit to express their grievances, arguing that low wages and overworking constitute a serious manpower shortage and deteriorating medical conditions. Over 5,000 laborers voiced their hope for improved working conditions.
