Labor Ministry Revises Occupational Safety Law to Clearly Define Workplace Bullying

On May 1st, the Labor Ministry reported on the draft amendment to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, focusing on strengthening primary disaster prevention, improving management of contracting, and enhancing workplace bullying prevention measures. A new chapter was added to clearly define workplace bullying behavior, stating that if an individual is subjected to offensive, threatening, dismissive, or insulting behavior that harms their mental or physical health, it may be considered bullying, even if not repeated.

The purpose of this revision is to improve workplace safety and create a more friendly environment. The Labor Ministry aims to promote sustainable development for businesses while strengthening disaster prevention responsibilities across various entities.
