Taiwan's Average Salary of 560,000 for 2024 Reveals Unseen Growth: Most People's Salaries Stagnate

According to the salary inquiry platform "Compare Salaries," Taiwan's average salary for 2024 is set at 560,000, reflecting a 2.7% growth from 2023. However, former private equity trader "Gu Ren Ah Xun" indicates that in reality, most people’s salaries have not grown in recent years, with any increase primarily attributed to "inflation."
In a post on the 30th, Gu Ren Ah Xun mentioned that while the average salary in 2024 looks promising, when excluding the tech industry, the overall average salary actually fell by 2.1% compared to 2023. This suggests that industries with large employment numbers, like traditional industries and services, continue to struggle without salary increases, and some even face contractions.
He likened it to a classroom where only the top students boost the average scores, while others are just trying to keep up. For middle-aged individuals under financial pressure, changing careers isn't a viable option but rather a gamble for survival.
