Hon Hai's Semiconductor Unit Acquires 51% of Flandre Technology

According to FTNN news, the TAIEX index rose by 477.7 points from April 21 to April 25, closing at 19872.73 points with a gain of 2.46%. Data released by the Taiwan Stock Exchange shows that the three major institutional investors net bought a total of NT$25.592 billion last week, with Taishin Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (2887) leading at 33,174 shares purchased followed by Shin Kong Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (2888) and Hon Hai (2317), with 31,009 and 26,413 shares acquired respectively.

Last week, Hon Hai's semiconductor equipment company, Jingding (3413), announced that it has acquired a 51% stake in Flandre Technology, gaining substantial control. On the same day, its subsidiary, Honyuan International, announced an investment of 15 billion Japanese yen (approximately NT$3.44 billion) to acquire 100% of Sharp Fukuyama Laser (SFL), further expanding its presence in the laser and precision manufacturing sector.

According to data from the stock exchange, the major institutional investors net bought NT$27.535 billion, while proprietary traders sold NT$13.006 billion, and investment trust companies net bought NT$11.062 billion. The top ten stocks for net buying included six electronic stocks, one traditional industry stock, and three financial stocks, with Hon Hai ranking third among the net purchases.
