Ministry of Finance Launches Smartphone Tax Filing Lottery with a Total Prize of 5.25 Million TWD

The 113th Fiscal Year Comprehensive Income Tax settlement filing will commence on May 1, 114. To encourage taxpayers to use smartphone filing, the Ministry of Finance has launched a nationwide lottery event titled "Smartphone Tax Filing Fun Gifts," with a total prize of 5.25 million TWD and an estimated 19,586 lucky winners, including a grand prize of 50,000 TWD in cash!
During a press conference held yesterday (24th), the Ministry announced that this lottery activity is open to those who complete their tax filings via smartphone during the filing period (from May 1 to June 30, 114). Winners will be randomly selected in September 114 by the Fiscal Information Center using a computer program. The prizes will include cash and electronic coupons, with the maximum prize amount of 50,000 TWD in cash.
The Ministry has stated that the smartphone tax filing system has continued to optimize, making it user-friendly and time-saving, while effectively reducing waiting times at service counters and improving tax filing efficiency. This year, participation in the lottery is restricted to smartphone filers only, excluding the previous provision allowing online filers to participate, to further encourage the public to embrace digital tax filing methods.
The Northern District Tax Bureau reminds that for cash prize winners above 2,000 TWD, a registered letter will be sent with the notification, and they must respond within the time limit to complete the prize claiming process. Winners of electronic coupons will receive notifications via the 111 messaging platform, but the messages will not include any links, so the public is advised to be cautious of fraudulent messages.
