New Direct Recruitment Platform Launches to Support Migrant Workers in Finding Employers

In response to issues of exploitation, information asymmetry, and high fees in the past migrant worker employment system, the Ministry of Labor is actively promoting a "Direct Employment System". The Workforce Development Agency has established the "Direct Employment Joint Service Center", providing a transparent and multilingual-supported employer-matching service to reduce the burden on both employers and migrant workers while safeguarding their rights.
The agency announced that it currently holds two "Migrant Worker Employer Transition Coordination Meetings" every week and has established an "Online Matching Platform for Foreign Workers Changing Employers". This platform supports interfaces in Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, assisting employers in posting job vacancies and allowing migrant workers to upload resumes and apply for matches. The coordination meetings offer options for online video or physical participation, with professional bilingual interpretation to facilitate one-on-one meetings without the need for agency fees, ensuring a straightforward and trustworthy process.
To enhance matching convenience, the Direct Employment Center has also introduced features like SMS reminders, application progress tracking, remote participation, and matching progress updates, providing various channels for users including mailing, faxing, and online registration. The system design aims to give migrant workers reasonable opportunities for job transitions upon resignation or contract expiration, reducing passive waiting and the repeated payment of agency fees, while enabling employers to find suitable candidates in a low-cost, immediate, and compliant manner. This Direct Employment System responds to societal concerns regarding the past "high exploitation of migrant workers by agencies" and "lack of transparency in hiring processes", and truly realizes a win-win principle for both employers and workers. For recruitment needs, the public can inquire through the Direct Employment Center's official website or service hotline, as well as the 1955 toll-free multilingual customer service number.
