New Industrial Park Development by New Fa Steel in Keelung Shih-Du Expected to Create 450 Jobs

New Fa Steel Company in the Shih-Du District of Keelung is set to develop an industrial park along the Taiwan Route 5. The city government has approved the development plan, which spans an area of 10 hectares, bringing in industries such as technology research, logistics, and export-focused sectors. It is estimated that this initiative will generate approximately 450 job opportunities.

The industrial park aims to connect with the planned industrial areas along the Keelung River Valley Corridor in Xinbei City, as well as Linkou in Taipei City, forming a belt of industrialization that will aid regional development. Located on Mingde 3rd Road, it was initially intended for a Benz dealership by Tailung Benz that aimed to invest 880 million TWD to establish a new car display center and maintenance factory, a plan which ultimately did not proceed. With the approval of the city government, New Fa Steel will also launch technology research facilities and office spaces in their development.

This industrial park's proximity to the Keelung River Corridor and Shih-Du, alongside the forthcoming construction of the Keelung Metro and connectivity via the Wudu Link road to National Highway 1, will facilitate the integration of industries from New Taipei's Daxi and surrounding regions, supporting the marine emerging industries. The city government revealed that based on land management regulations, the site has been approved to be converted to an industrial park, with the developer obliged to provide a feedback fee exceeding 10 million NTD and donate road land for the construction of external roads, to be widened in tandem with the Keelung Metro.
