Chiang Wan-an Proposes 'Cabinet Dismissal' Crisis, Is Eric Chu Trying to Save Himself with the 426 Rally?

At the KMT's protest site, Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an's proposal for a 'cabinet dismissal' has reignited discussions within the Blue camp. This protest is crucial for Eric Chu, as it implies the future survival of the KMT.

Regarding the 'cabinet dismissal', many political elites are pondering its pros and cons. While the People's Party refrains from discussing it, leaders from both the DPP and KMT have engaged in serious considerations. However, the lack of a clear winning strategy has left many hesitant to take action. Reviving the Blue camp in the face of recall crises involves too many variables.

In areas already facing recall threats, Chiang Wan-an fears that advocating for a cabinet dismissal could negatively impact his political reputation. Though the odds are slim, this expression of intent has attracted significant attention, lifting the morale of the currently demoralized Blue camp.

For Eric Chu, as more recall cases enter the third voting stage, he must exhibit proactive efforts; otherwise, his ambitions for party chairmanship could be jeopardized. Should recalls succeed, it would severely diminish the Blue camp's morale and have extensive political ramifications. Conversely, if only a few symbolic seats are dismissed, Chu might still have a fighting chance.

In the upcoming elections, Chu will closely monitor the events of April 26 and will not miss any opportunity to mobilize support, focusing on fostering unity within the party to maintain the KMT's image and influence.
