Largan Ventures into Humanoid Robot Market, Vision Technology to Boost Optical Industry Development

Largan (3008) held its shareholders' meeting yesterday. Chairman Lin Enping stated that the company is rapidly entering the robotics sector with humanoid robots and robotic arms despite not having mass production yet. They expect to ship visual products to overseas customers by the end of the year while keeping an eye on market demand changes.
Lin pointed out that the U.S. tariffs and exchange rate fluctuations pose challenges to their operational outlook for the second half of the year. He acknowledged short-term pressures but expressed optimism as they approach the traditional peak season, anticipating strengthened customer demand in June and July, with full capacity utilization expected in the third quarter.
Additionally, development in non-mobile phone sectors, such as automotive lenses, is ongoing, though profitability from subsidiaries still requires time. Largan is on the lookout for new investment opportunities, without setting specific target sectors yet.
Regarding the ongoing software infringement lawsuit with the German company MVTec, Lin emphasized that this case will not affect production lines, and they intend to respect court rulings.
