Trump Unveils New Tariffs, U.S. Stock Market Declines Across the Board

The Federal Reserve is set to announce its interest rate decision on the 7th, while President Trump has announced the introduction of new tariffs on movies produced overseas.
On Monday, May 5th, after 70 minutes of trading, all four major U.S. indices showed declines. The Dow Jones fell by 0.18%, closing at 41,242.98 points; the S&P 500 dropped by 0.69%, settling at 5,647.59 points; the NASDAQ Composite decreased by 0.92%, ending at 17,811.95 points; and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index declined by 0.93%, closing at 4,356.33 points.
In individual stock performances, Meta's stock edged down by 0.04%, Microsoft fell by 0.16%, NVIDIA dropped by 1.46%, Google gained 0.26%, Tesla slid by 4.23%, and Apple fell by 3.46%. TSMC's ADR also saw a decrease of 1.43%.
