The New Taiwan Dollar has seen a significant increase in value, closing at NT$29.95 in the afternoon session, a rise of NT$1.114 from the previous day. The Central Bank will hold an emergency press conference at 4:30 PM, where President Yang Chin-long will address the situation in the foreign exchange market.

Last week, the Central Bank stated that the appreciation of the currency was not related to pressures from the United States. However, as Taiwan and the U.S. approach trade negotiations, market expectations have begun to shift. The New Taiwan Dollar has surged over NT$1 for two consecutive days, reaching a high of NT$29.59, attracting market attention on whether the Central Bank will intervene.

Due to selling pressures from foreign investors and exporters, the currency briefly breached the NT$30 mark. Nonetheless, the Central Bank's intervention helped stabilize the rate around NT$31.

The Central Bank emphasized their commitment to monitoring international financial market developments to maintain the dynamic stability of the New Taiwan Dollar.
