The Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) launched its recruitment examination today (4th), drawing nearly 12,000 applicants for over 1,000 positions. The examination, held concurrently in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Hualien, is expected to select 1,084 new employees, with 6,882 actually attending. The average acceptance rate is 15.75%, but for the highly competitive accounting category, there is only a 1.4% acceptance rate with 214 applicants vying for just 3 slots.

Taipower has stated that to address the upcoming retirement wave and ensure stable electricity supply while aiming for net-zero transformation, it will continue to recruit new talent. This recruitment covers 15 categories, including distribution, transmission, electrical engineering, and accounting. The most sought-after distribution line maintenance category is expected to recruit 489 individuals from nearly 1,800 applicants.

To protect the rights of candidates, the examination will have oversight from monitoring agencies, and all test centers nationwide will be air-conditioned to ensure a comfortable environment. The second round of examinations will start on August 5, requiring candidates for specific categories to obtain a manual small vehicle license before the second round, and candidates must also pass physical tests to confirm their fitness for the duties involved.
