Taichung Celebrates 114th Labor Day with Recognition of Exemplary Workers Amid US Tariff Concerns
On the 2nd of today, the Taichung City Government held the '114th Taichung Labor Day and Exemplary Worker Recognition Ceremony,' where Mayor Lu Shiu-yen expressed gratitude towards the awardees, acknowledging them as role models for all workers.
Mayor Lu also highlighted concerns over the impacts of US tariffs on workers, being the first to establish a dedicated section on the Labor Bureau's official website for 'Response to US Tariffs Labor Bureau Assistance Program,' with the aim to aid workers in navigating through this crisis.
The ceremony honored 124 exemplary workers, along with other outstanding groups. Cultural performances were conducted to pay tribute to the hardworking laborers, showcasing the city government's care and support for them.
Mayor Lu encouraged all citizens to witness the contributions of these dedicated labor partners and to join together in promoting economic advancement.
