NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang Receives First Salary Increase in a Decade, Total Compensation Exceeds $49.9 Million

NVIDIA recently submitted a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealing that CEO Jensen Huang has received his first adjustment to his base salary since 2013, increasing from $1 million to $1.5 million (approximately NT$47.49 million) in the fiscal year 2024, a 49% raise.

In addition to the increase in base salary, Huang's performance bonus has also been raised to $3 million, an increase of $1 million from last year. Furthermore, his stock awards are valued at $38.8 million, bringing his total compensation for the fiscal year 2024 to approximately $49.9 million.

NVIDIA stated that this salary structure adjustment is primarily to reflect the company's leading position in artificial intelligence technology and accelerated computing over the past year, and to acknowledge Huang's contributions to the company's long-term growth. In recent years, the demand for NVIDIA's chips has surged alongside the rapid expansion of generative AI applications, and the company's stock price has reached historic highs.

At 61, Huang has served as CEO since co-founding NVIDIA in 1993. According to the filing, he has not sold any of his substantial holdings in the company, demonstrating his strong confidence in its future development.
