President Lai Ching-te's Dialogue in Wugu: No Industry Will Be Sacrificed

The economic center reports that in the wake of U.S. tariffs severely impacting the global economy, President Lai Ching-te held a dialogue this morning with manufacturers at the New Taipei Industrial Park in Wugu, attended by Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua and New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-ih. President Lai emphasized that 'no industry will be sacrificed.'
Regarding concerns over power supply due to the decommissioning of the second reactor at the nuclear power plant, Lai stated that there would be no issues with power supply until 2032. He stressed the importance of listening to industry needs while navigating the pressures of U.S. tariffs.
