Taipei City Property Tax 2.0 Error Affects 50,000 Residents, Refunds to Be Processed by End of June

In Taipei City, property tax calculations may have errors affecting many taxpayers. The new differential property tax rate 2.0 was first implemented on May 1, but due to issues in the new system's setup, approximately 50,000 residents found their parking spaces misclassified as non-owner-occupied residences, subjecting them to a 2% tax rate.
The Taipei City tax department stated that if you have already paid your property tax, any overpaid amount will be refunded automatically by the end of June. Additionally, taxpayers can utilize the online tax refund response section's QR code to submit their bank account details, and the tax department will deposit the refund directly into the designated account.
