During a meeting chaired by Premier Su Tseng-chang, the Ministry of Labor announced proposed amendments to the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The amendments focus on enhancing primary disaster prevention, improving contractor management, and addressing workplace bullying.

The new regulations will impose a maximum prison sentence of 5 years and a fine of NT$1.5 million for fatal work accidents, while accidents resulting in three or more injuries will be punishable by up to 3 years and NT$1 million. Furthermore, all penalized entities will be required to disclose relevant violation information to promote public supervision.

Premier Su emphasized the importance of protecting workers' rights as a reflection of social fairness and justice, promising higher standards and improved systems to respect all workers. Additionally, the new amendments will specifically address workplace bullying, mandating employers to take immediate and appropriate action upon becoming aware of such incidents.
