Morgan Stanley Forecasts Boost in Taiwan's PC Stocks Amid Demand Surge

The US has announced a 90-day tariff exemption on Chinese electronics, unexpectedly fueling a preemptive purchasing wave in the PC industry. In its latest report, Morgan Stanley pointed out that this surge in short-term demand will accelerate PC shipments to the US and simultaneously raise the global laptop production estimates for the second quarter.
In light of this trend, Morgan Stanley highlights seven Taiwanese tech stocks with robust fundamentals, granting them an 'outperform' rating over the broader market.
The report indicates that the global five major laptop ODMs are expected to outperform predictions by 5% in Q1 2024, primarily due to trade policy changes causing preemptive shipments. This shipment peak is anticipated to extend through Q2.
