Tariff War Shocks the World? Hsieh Chin-ho Reveals Trump's Heroes

U.S. President Donald Trump will mark 100 days in office on the 29th of this month, during which his policies have had a significant impact on the global economy. His push for reciprocal tariffs has disrupted the existing global economic order, affecting Taiwan as well. Hsieh Chin-ho, chairman of the Finance Media Group, points out that many people do not understand what Trump and his team are playing at, but it is essential to grasp history; Taiwan faces many dangers in this contest, and as long as it remains a sovereign independent nation, its future prospects are bright.
Hsieh stated on Facebook that the three key pillars supporting the Trump administration are tariff strategist Peter Navarro, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. He highlighted Lutnick as a legendary figure who was in the Twin Towers during the 9/11 terror attacks, where the first plane struck his office, resulting in 658 employee deaths, including his brother, while he escaped after dropping his child off at kindergarten, making him Trump's most important ally.
Hsieh emphasized the need to understand Navarro by closely reading his classic work 'Death by China,' as well as Trump's book 'The Art of the Deal,' which he wrote at the age of 35. Trump’s strategies involve four steps: first, shout an outrageous price; second, test the opponent's limits for negotiation; third, alter the rules of the game; fourth, find the answers he truly seeks.
Hsieh discusses whether Trump's trades induce fear or wonder in the world. Notably, a large photo of President Reagan hangs alongside founding fathers in Trump's office, representing Trump's ideal hero. Hsieh notes that Trump faces a situation today that is potentially more challenging than that faced by Reagan in the 1980s. During that era, the U.S. Federal interest rates rose to 20%, with media, academia, and government experiencing severe Soviet infiltration and anti-war protests on the streets. President Reagan led the nation out of that predicament, but today's international organizations have been infiltrated by China, and even major tech companies like Meta have been subsumed by Chinese influence, with Wall Street becoming complicit.
