CPC Announces No Change to Gasoline Prices, Diesel to Increase by 0.2 NTD

CPC Corporation, Taiwan has announced that starting at midnight tomorrow (the 28th), gasoline prices will remain unchanged while diesel prices will increase by 0.2 NTD. The latest reference retail prices are 28.3 NTD per liter for 92 unleaded gasoline, 29.8 NTD for 95 unleaded gasoline, 31.8 NTD for 98 unleaded gasoline, and 27.1 NTD for super diesel.

CPC stated that the recent signs of easing high tariff measures by the United States against major countries have impacted international oil prices positively. The average price under the 7D3B indicator rose by 1.04 USD this week, with the NTD appreciating against the USD by 0.036 NTD, an increase of 1.15%.

According to the floating oil price adjustment principles, both gasoline and diesel prices should increase by 0.2 NTD per liter. However, to maintain prices below neighboring Asian countries, the gasoline price increase will be absorbed, resulting in the adjusted price for 95 unleaded gasoline being below 30 NTD, thus no adjustment for gasoline, while diesel’s actual price will rise by 0.2 NTD.

This week’s price adjustment considers the government's reduction in goods tax and keeps Taiwan's oil prices in line with neighboring countries’ lowest prices. Cumulatively until the end of March this year, CPC has absorbed about 3.561 billion NTD in costs.
