Ambassador Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott Offer High Salaries to Recruit Talent Amid Economic Challenges

In light of the significant impact of Trump's tariff policies, Taiwan's economic outlook has been downgraded by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, with the GDP forecast lowered to 2.91%. Against this backdrop, the Ambassador Hotel's ACUT steakhouse has announced a recruitment drive for chefs offering a salary of NT$65,000, while the Courtyard by Marriott is seeking supervisors with a monthly salary of NT$55,000.

These high-paying positions are attractive due to the skill level required for chefs in terms of cooking techniques and maintaining quality. Chef Tsai Hung-kai indicated that as prices rise, chefs must enhance their skills to meet market demands, and these high salary offerings are in response to such needs.

Moreover, recent statistics reveal that nearly 90% of employees believe the tariff war has a significant impact, contributing to decreased consumer confidence. Taiwan Institute of Economic Research President Chang Chien-yi emphasized the need for government measures to stimulate domestic demand to address current economic challenges.
