Economic Ministry Supports Tainan Shoe Industry Transformation with Official Launch of 'Fuchsia Shoes' Brand

To assist small and medium enterprises and traditional industries in upgrading and transforming, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has consolidated various research and development and guidance resources and conducted intensive counseling for the Tainan shoe industry over five months. This guidance included not only establishing business models and expanding distribution channels but also the official launch of its own brand 'Fuchsia Shoes,' successfully showcasing the achievements of the Tainan footwear industry in innovation and cultural heritage. The launch of this brand symbolizes the vigor and vitality that traditional industries are gaining as they move into a new era, thanks to collaboration between the government and the industry.
Today (7th), the Tainan Leather Products Commercial Association and shoemakers held the launch event for the 'Fuchsia Shoes' brand. Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Lee Guan-Chih, legislators Chen Ting-Fei, Tainan City Deputy Mayor Zhao Qing-Hui, and several city council members also attended the event to show their support. Yang Wen-Hsiung, president of the Leather Products Association, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Economic Affairs for its support in brand building and channel matching, helping manufacturers transition from OEM to brand management and deepening consumer recognition and trust in Tainan shoes.
Minister of Economic Affairs, Kuo Chih-Hui, has been convening 'All Industries Forums' since the second half of last year to understand the actual needs of traditional industries and small and micro enterprises and propose specific countermeasures. In line with the Cabinet's 'Multi-Faceted Revitalization and Development Plan for Small and Medium Enterprises,' through three major strategies: 'Digital Transformation,' 'Net Zero Transformation,' and 'Channel Development,' funding, talent, and technical support are provided to strengthen enterprises' resilience and competitiveness, and move towards sustainable operation.
'Channel Development' is vital for upgrading local industries and expanding markets. The newly launched 'Fuchsia Shoes' brand logo combines the English initials F and S with the imagery of footprints and leather, symbolizing the brand spirit of making steady progress. Currently, several large domestic distributors have commissioned the Tainan shoe industry to produce more than 400,000 pairs of shoes, substantially enhancing production capacity and expanding new order sources for manufacturers.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs emphasized that through promoting the 'Fuchsia Shoes' brand and collaborating with distribution channels, it not only assists manufacturers in opening up broader sales channels but will also continue to promote digital transformation and carbon reduction in the future, aiming towards the development of high-value-added products with 'health functions' and capturing market trends accurately, significantly enhancing the international competitiveness of the Tainan shoe industry.
