Cathay United Bank Launches Online Payment System in Cambodia to Boost Tourism Market

Cathay United Bank's Cambodia branch will introduce the "CUBC Online Card Payment Service" in 2025, allowing merchants to quickly generate payment links without the need for a website. These links can be sent to customers via instant messaging, email, or SMS, responding to the growing demand in the Cambodian tourism market.

Having launched the CUBC mBANKING app in 2023, which supports transfers and KHQR payments, Cathay United Bank has partnered with Mastercard to enable accommodation providers to automatically generate payment links, promoting transaction convenience. Merchants can log in to the service platform, generate payment links, and complete payments securely, all compliant with EMV 3DS 2.0 security standards.

Furthermore, the "CUBC Online Card Payment Service" allows merchants to create product lists to efficiently track order statuses. General Manager Yeh Jan-Hao noted that as travel needs evolve, this service will enable accommodation providers to offer flexible quotations and payment options, thus enhancing transaction security and convenience.

Cathay United Bank aims to deepen service offerings through financial innovation in the ASEAN market, continuously enhancing products and services that meet local demands.
