Graduation Season Ignites Talent War in Convenience Store Industry

As June graduation season approaches, the job market is surging, and the retail sector's ongoing labor shortage has prompted the convenience store industry to kick off global talent recruitment. Industry leader 7-ELEVEN has announced the recruitment of 1,000 global partners, targeting international students and offering flexible short-hour shifts and managerial trainee positions, where trainees can challenge an annual salary of up to $1 million.

FamilyMart plans to recruit 1,500 new store staff and managerial trainees this year, with starting salaries beginning at $800,000. Uni-President has also been continuously adjusting its human resources policy, utilizing AI and various smart tools to create short-hour work opportunities, introducing the 'flexible shift' concept and attracting more young workers.

To foster a diverse work environment, 7-ELEVEN has implemented new equipment like smart tablets and self-checkout functions in its stores, providing flexible shifts and encouraging part-time workers to transition into full-time positions, alongside offering a range of rewards and benefits.

Moreover, the trainee program offers competitive compensation, starting from $680,000 for bachelor's degree holders and $780,000 for master's degree holders, with annual salary adjustments based on performance. FamilyMart is also actively promoting its talent recruitment, welcomingforeign employees, older adults, and immigrants, creating a prosperous and inclusive workplace.
