Belgian Woman Earns $50,000 Weekly as a Cleaner in Australian Mines, Achieves Financial Freedom

A 29-year-old Belgian woman, Janne D’Huyvetter, shares her experience of working in Australia under a working holiday visa, where she can earn over AUD $2,650 (approximately NT$51,350) per week. Despite long working hours and tough conditions, she believes that this job provides unprecedented financial freedom.
She notes that one of the biggest benefits of FIFO work is the ability to save money, as she doesn't incur expenses for lodging and meals—three meals a day, gym facilities, and recreational spaces are provided at the mining site. Furthermore, if her annual income does not exceed AUD $45,000, she won't be taxed, which helps her accumulate savings more quickly.
Janne finds the competitive salary in her mining job stabilizes her finances, and after just two weeks of work, she was pleased with her savings. Working 12 hours a day for 14 days followed by a week off allows her to travel during her breaks, making it possible to explore Australia.
