Taxi Driver Sues Passenger for Fraud Over ₹90 Discrepancy

In a recent incident, a passenger taking a multi-service taxi was sued by the driver for fraud, claiming he underpaid by ₹90. The passenger traveled from Banqiao to Xinyi District, but a price discrepancy arose due to a specified route.
The passenger expressed confusion and frustration over the situation, stating that upon receiving the subpoena, he thought he was involved in a major fraud case, only to find it was related to a minor fare difference. He mentioned that the driver did not communicate the fare clearly and that the credit card charge was not processed immediately. He later received a call from the platform stating that the fare was ₹660, and after negotiations, he paid ₹570.
The driver contended that the discrepancy was due to the passenger changing routes during the trip. Both parties have differing perspectives, leading to a court case that surprised the ride-hailing platform. The platform is currently engaging with both the driver and passenger in hopes of resolving this matter satisfactorily.
