Fuel Price Adjustments Starting Tomorrow: Gasoline Down by 1.1 TWD, Diesel by 1.4 TWD

Taiwan's CPC Corporation announced on the 4th that starting tomorrow (5th) at midnight, the prices of gasoline and diesel will be reduced by 1.1 TWD and 1.4 TWD, respectively. The adjusted reference retail prices are 27.2 TWD per liter for 92 octane unleaded gasoline, 28.7 TWD for 95 octane unleaded gasoline, 30.7 TWD for 98 octane unleaded gasoline, and 25.7 TWD for super diesel.
CPC stated that the price adjustments are based on a decline in international oil prices this week and an appreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar against the US Dollar. According to the floating pricing mechanism, gasoline and diesel prices should be reduced by 1.1 TWD and 1.4 TWD per liter, both remaining lower than those in neighboring Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore).
Moreover, because the price of 95 octane unleaded gasoline does not reach the threshold to trigger stabilizing measures, the domestic adjustments have been implemented. With the government reducing excise tax (2 TWD for gasoline and 1.5 TWD for diesel per liter), this ensures the stability of domestic fuel prices.
As of April of the 114th year, CPC has absorbed approximately 4.116 billion TWD in costs. The adjustments to the reference retail prices for various fuel types are as mentioned above, and actual retail prices will be subject to announcement by individual service points.
