CHT Adjusts Attendance Bonus to Monthly Disbursement Amid Labor Union Agreement Revision

On the eve of Labor Day, Chunghwa Post signed a labor agreement amendment with its corporate union, with one significant change being the adjustment of the attendance bonus. This bonus will now be calculated monthly instead of quarterly, significantly lowering the threshold for employees to receive it.

Chairman Wang Kuo-tsai noted that this marks the first major revision of the labor agreement since he last signed it seven years ago in his capacity as Vice Minister of Transportation. He emphasized the need for labor and management to unite and cooperate in light of business transformations and global financial challenges. This agreement revision encompasses 51 articles, clarifying negotiation procedures for labor disputes and regulations against terminating labor contracts for workplace injury victims without legal grounds.

Additionally, Chunghwa Post will provide office space and utilities to the union at no charge, which aims to mitigate potential disputes in the future. Lin Rong-chou, Chairman of the corporate union, expressed that this amendment marks a new starting point and looks forward to creating a better workplace environment for employees.
