Taipei Rises to 38th Wealthiest City Globally with 31,400 Millionaire Residents

According to the "2025 Global Wealth Report" by a renowned international immigration and wealth advisory firm, Taipei has climbed to 38th place among the world's wealthiest cities, improving from 39th last year. The report indicates that there are 31,400 residents with assets exceeding one million dollars.
This increase reflects the vitality of Taiwan’s economy, with total credit card spending last year reaching NT$4.68 trillion, up 11.94% from the previous year. Residents believe that Taipei enjoys a high standard of living and financial strength.
While Taipei did not make the top 20, its density of wealthy individuals surpasses that of Shanghai, which ranks 14th. Experts suggest that future economic shifts, particularly due to U.S. tariff policies, could impact the rankings of wealthy cities worldwide.
