In a Tumultuous Global Market, Sakya King Visits Taiwan to Provide Comfort

After overcoming the shadows of the pandemic, the world is now facing wars, tariffs, and the collapse of global stock and currency markets. To alleviate public anxiety, the 43rd Sakya King arrived in Taiwan on Sunday (20th) to hold a large Dharma gathering, promoting Buddhist teachings to soothe the spirits of believers.
In red robes and with a calm demeanor, the King led the congregation in blessings amidst a solemn atmosphere. During the pandemic, he provided comfort through Buddhist principles, and now, amid turbulent markets impacted by tariffs, he emphasized that such fluctuations are part of business:
“From a Buddhist perspective, crises can also be opportunities. Technological advancements bring many new possibilities. For instance, AI technology has begun to play an important role in everyday life.” He stressed that maintaining a “calm mind” is crucial, especially when faced with an overwhelming amount of information.
The five-day purification Rite of the Vajra King aims to eliminate negative karma for the believers while praying for their inner peace.
