U.S. Stock Indices Edge Up Amid Ongoing Focus on Tariff Policies

According to an immediate report by Liao Yu-Hsuan, investors are awaiting this week's upcoming corporate earnings reports and key economic data while closely monitoring developments in U.S. tariff policies. On Wall Street today (28th), the three major indexes opened modestly higher, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average increasing by 58 points to open at 40,171, reflecting a gain of 0.15%; the S&P 500 grew by 4 points to open at 5,529, a rise of 0.07%; and the Nasdaq added 8 points, reporting a value of 17,390, with a 0.05% increase.
In addition to the upcoming corporate earnings and critical economic data, investors are also keenly focused on U.S. tariff issues. Earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Benson mentioned in an interview with CNBC that the U.S. is engaging with China on various fronts, and whether tariffs can ease “depends on China.”
