Gasoline Prices Remain Unchanged from April 28, Diesel Price Increases by 0.2 NTD

Taiwan's CPC Corporation announced that starting from midnight tomorrow (28th), gasoline prices will remain unchanged, while diesel prices will increase by 0.2 NTD. The reference retail prices are set at 28.3 NTD for 92 unleaded gasoline, 29.8 NTD for 95 unleaded gasoline, 31.8 NTD for 98 unleaded gasoline, and 27.1 NTD for super diesel.
CPC stated that this week the international oil prices rose due to signs of easing tariff measures the United States proposed against major countries. The floating oil price adjustment index, the 7D3B weekly average increased by 1.04 USD, and the exchange rate of New Taiwan Dollar to US Dollar appreciated by 0.036 NTD, with an increase rate of 1.15%. According to the principles of floating oil price adjustments, both gasoline and diesel prices should each increase by 0.2 NTD. However, to maintain prices below neighboring Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore), gasoline will absorb the 0.2 NTD increase. As a result, the price of 95 unleaded gasoline remains below 30 NTD, not reaching the threshold to activate stabilization measures. Therefore, domestic gasoline prices are unchanged, and diesel prices will rise by 0.2 NTD per liter.
This week, adjustments to domestic oil prices follow the oil price formula and the government's reduction in commodity taxes (2 NTD off for gasoline and 1.5 NTD off for diesel). The measures will continue to operate based on the lowest prices in neighboring countries to help stabilize domestic oil prices. Up to the end of March 2025, CPC has absorbed about 3.561 billion NTD in costs. After adjustments, reference retail prices and adjustments will be announced at each service station.
