Taiwan Stock Market Closes at 19872 Points, TSMC Rises 2.78% to 888 NTD
The Taiwan stock market showed positive performance today, opening with a significant gain of 500 points, driven by the momentum from the U.S. stock market. Although the index saw some retreat, it closed at 19872.73 points, up by 2.02%. The market atmosphere was buoyed by a dovish signal from the U.S. Federal Reserve, alongside the strong gains in the U.S. markets, with electronic and financial stocks leading the charge. AI concept stocks also surged, and cybersecurity as well as service sectors benefited from favorable government policies.
In individual stock performances, TSMC reached a peak of 901 NTD during the day, closing at 888 NTD, reflecting a gain of 2.78%. MediaTek ended at 1380 NTD, up 3.76%. Foxconn’s stock closed at 139 NTD, up by 1.83%.
