US-China Trade War: Japan and Vietnam Reject Assisting US in Isolating China

In response to America's tariff policies, Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe emphasized that the country will not repeatedly concede to the US, while Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that they will ensure negotiations do not disrupt other markets, indicating both countries' refusal to assist in isolating China.

Veteran media figure Chen Feng-hsin pointed out that countries have already recognized the time pressure the US faces for economic revival, and China understands that nations will not yield to US pressure. Coupled with America's high reliance on importing Chinese goods, a potential agreement between the US and China on tariffs is increasingly likely.

In the program “Southeast Northwest Dragon and Phoenix Pair,” Chen noted that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce warned on the 21st that any country that harms China's interests to please the US would not be accepted, prompting Japan and Vietnam to take a firm stance. Vietnam stated clearly that it will not increase tariffs on China, while Japan stated it will not keep conceding to the US and wrote a personal letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, indicating Japan's efforts to avoid being caught in the US-China trade conflict.

As the US's attempts to directly pressure China have failed, Chen believes the likelihood of an agreement on tariffs between the US and China has significantly increased. Moreover, the strong dependence of US retail on China poses challenges to business operations if tariffs cannot be effectively negotiated. Chen also mentioned that the technology and financial wars are still ongoing, with China urging state-owned funds to stop investing in American private equity funds, suggesting a strategic approach to exploit vulnerabilities amid the US's current financial instability.
