Government Funds Withdraw Millions as Memory Stock Prices Plummet

Today (24th), the Taiwan stock market weighted index closed at 19,478.81 points, down 0.82%. The eight major government funds cumulatively bought over 2.19 billion. Observing the individual stocks sold by these funds today, Chengding (9933) faced a crisis with 19.6 billion in bad debts, leading the board to resolve to initiate private placements and adjust cash dividends to self-rescue. Consequently, Chengding’s stock surged and closed at 28.65 NT dollars. The funds sold 1,194 shares, recovering 33.62 million NT dollars.
Nan Ya (2408) had been performing well due to the anticipation of price hikes for DDR4 contracts. However, the price trend has weakened recently, closing today at 37.40 NT dollars, with the funds selling 1,445 shares and withdrawing 55.41 million NT dollars. According to stock exchange data, the ten stocks with the highest sales included Lumentum, Chang Yin and Nan Ya.
