Survey: Over Half of Workers Fear Unpaid Leave and Job Loss, Raise Opportunities May Be Diminished

As the industry faces a labor shortage, this year was initially set for companies to raise salaries and expand recruitment, but with U.S. President Trump's "reciprocal tariffs" policy, the global economic outlook has become uncertain. A survey by yes123 Job Network found that over 50% of workers are worried about unpaid leave, and 82.4% fear their salary increase plans may fall through.

According to the survey, 58.8% of workers are concerned that their employers might implement reduced work hours and unpaid leave, while 52.9% worry about job loss. In light of recent global stock market corrections, 60% of workers admitted that the tariff war has caused tangible losses to their financial planning.

From the employers' perspective, 55.6% of companies reported no impact from tariffs, but 33.3% indicated that changes in tariffs could negatively affect recruitment, while 34.9% revealed they may consider suspending salary increases this year.
