The Power Lottery jackpot today (16th) has reached NT$1.26 billion. Huang Wei-chi, a vendor from a popular lottery outlet in Shilin Night Market, stated that employees of Chung Hua Benz have pooled their funds to purchase tickets, exceeding NT$10,000, in hopes of winning the grand prize.

The Power Lottery draws are held every Monday and Thursday at 8:30 PM. The winning numbers for the 114047th draw last Thursday were 38, 15, 12, 13, 26, 05 for the first set and 05 for the second set. The jackpot was not claimed, thus it has accumulated to NT$1.26 billion, giving lottery fans hope for a chance to get rich overnight.

Huang also mentioned that since the jackpot exceeded NT$1 billion, there has been a resurgence of ticket purchases across Taiwan. Not only ordinary citizens are pooling funds to buy tickets, but even employees from the leading brokerage, Yuanta Securities, are joining in, along with staff from banks, car manufacturers, and other companies trying their luck.

However, Huang reminded lottery fans to be rational, stating that purchasing lottery tickets is akin to supporting public interests, and it is crucial not to overspend and to play within one’s means.
