Q3 Labor Shortage Rate Drops, 92% of Workers Desire to Change Jobs

According to a survey by yes123, as the labor shortage continues, 92% of office workers are eager to switch jobs in the third quarter. Although hiring intentions have decreased, 88.7% of companies still plan to recruit in Q3.
By industry, the highest hiring intentions are found in "Accommodation and Food Services" at 94.3%, followed by "Wholesale and Retail Trade" and "Information Technology," each also exceeding 92%. The main reasons for hiring new employees include persistent labor shortages and increased business demand.
Furthermore, the survey revealed that job seekers expect an average salary of 44,349 yuan for new positions, while companies typically offer about 40,666 yuan, representing a disparity of 3,683 yuan between expectations and offers. The primary motivations for job changes include low salary, lack of company development opportunities, and concerns about industry prospects.
