Central and Southern Taiwan Promotes Re-employment of Retired Workers with Up to 500,000 NTD Subsidy for Employers

As Taiwan enters an ultra-aged society, the Central and Southern Taiwan branch of the Workforce Development Agency is actively promoting the "Subsidy Program for Employing Retired Mid-to-Older Age Workers to Pass on Professional Skills and Experience." This program encourages enterprises to hire experienced retired workers back to the workplace to serve as technical advisors or internal trainers.
The program not only facilitates the transfer of skills and intergenerational integration but also enhances corporate competitiveness. Employers can receive up to 500,000 NTD in subsidies each year. For example, Chaojia Industrial Co. in Nantou County successfully re-hired 66-year-old technician Yang Hsi-shun, who has 22 years of experience. His return to the production line has assisted in training newcomers and establishing standard procedures, ensuring a seamless transfer of essential skills.
The Central and Southern Taiwan branch noted that small and medium-sized enterprises often worry about losing skills when employees retire amid demographic shifts and labor shortages. This program aims to realize the potential of valuable human resources by assisting businesses in hiring experienced retired talents in mentoring roles, reducing costs for new employees and stabilizing production quality and professional skills.
Employers participating in the program can re-employ legally retired mid-to-older age workers according to their operational needs. For each qualified retired worker hired, employers can receive up to 100,000 NTD in subsidies per year, with a maximum annual subsidy cap of 500,000 NTD. The application deadline for the 114th year is June 30, and companies are encouraged to apply.
