Under-40s Struggling Financially: 40% Living Paycheck to Paycheck with Only 13,000 TWD in Savings

In today's society, more and more employees are facing financial challenges. According to a recent survey by the Human Resources Bank, the financial status of workers under 40 continues to worsen, showing six consecutive years of deficits. About 39.2% live paycheck to paycheck, with an average savings of only 136,000 TWD, and 23.2% having no savings at all.
He Feng emphasizes that besides the importance of increasing income, it is crucial to cut unnecessary expenses. He allocates his salary into different accounts for stock market investments and regular ETF purchases.
The spokesperson for the Human Resources Bank, Zeng Zhongwei, noted that as inflation rises each year, young people increasingly feel economic pressure, leading them to consider part-time jobs or investment strategies seriously.
Professor Xin Binglong from National Taiwan University analyzed that the younger generation faces many temptations, with banks loosening credit limits, which results in many young people spending more than their income. He advises young people to manage their expenditures carefully and categorize them effectively.
