Taiwan Cement Green Energy Launches Production and Sales Traceability Project in Chiayi

Taiwan Cement Green Energy has launched a production and sales traceability guidance program for 12 aquaculture farmers at the Chiayi Aquamarine Project, aiming to help them establish product 'identification cards' and enhance their market competitiveness. This initiative comes as U.S. tariffs pose potential impacts on the export of tilapia and sea bass from Taiwan.

The Chiayi County Government strongly encourages participating in production and sales traceability verification for aquaculture projects and has organized a briefing session to promote the involvement of at least 26 businesses. Taiwan Cement Green Energy's General Manager, Ong Chi-Liang, stated that the program will assist farmers in navigating the administrative details of aquaculture certification and compliance, while also enhancing farming efficiency through a series of professional courses on water quality management, feed nutrition, smart aquaculture, and pest control.

Nine original landowner farmers and three new young aquaculture entrepreneurs have expressed their willingness to join the traceability project. Ong reiterated that through proper sourcing and third-party verification mechanisms, traceability will aid in product differentiation, stabilize prices, and reduce impacts from international market fluctuations.
