In May, the weighted index of the Taiwan stock market rose by 1,112.27 points, an increase of 5.50%, closing at 21,347.30 points. According to the data from the stock exchange, foreign investors have accumulated a net purchase of 219.985 billion NTD this month. In the ETF market, foreign investors made significant purchases of the Yuanta Taiwan 50 Inverse ETF (00632R), buying up 314,000 shares, with an investment of 7.42 billion NTD. This is not only the most purchased ETF of the month but also greatly exceeds the second-placed other ETFs by over 250,000 shares.
This unusual activity has sparked discussions among online users, with comments like "This buying pressure is incredible," "The inverse 1 is here, everyone buckle up," "The crazy inverse 1 might be a signal of a trend change," and "The volume is frighteningly high."
Additionally, the Yuanta Taiwan Value High Dividend ETF (00940) also announced a stock replacement on May 19, undergoing a significant adjustment. Foreign investors also invested 515 million NTD in this ETF in May, acquiring 56,000 shares.
