Taipei Labor Office Reveals March Violations List: 59 Companies Fined Over NT$3.38 Million

The Taipei City Government's Labor Office has announced the penalty results for March 2025, revealing that 59 enterprises were fined a total of NT$3.38 million for violations of the Labor Standards Act. Among them, Kuang Yuan Security Company and Rainforest New Retail Company each received the highest fine of NT$220,000.

Director Wang Qiudong emphasized, “Fines are merely a means; the core value is to guide businesses in lawful compliance.” He urged employers to adhere to the law and not let fines become a routine occurrence.

The top five fines in March were as follows: Kuang Yuan Security Company (NT$220,000), Rainforest New Retail Company (NT$220,000), Taiwan Challenger Automotive Maintenance Company (NT$200,000), Taiwan Yoshinoya Company (NT$170,000), and White Shell Advertising Image Company (NT$150,000).

The main types of violations included: failure to pay overtime wages for weekdays (17 companies), absence of a rest day every 7 days (16 companies), failure to pay wages for working on rest days (13 companies), exceeding the legally mandated overtime hours (13 companies), and obstructing labor inspectors (9 companies).

The Labor Office is committed to monitoring businesses' compliance with the Labor Standards Act through various inspections to protect workers' rights. Employers are reminded to pay laborers' wages to sustain their livelihoods and to take proactive measures to prevent excessive overtime.

Director Wang reiterated the importance of viewing employees as valuable assets rather than just labor costs, urging compliance with labor laws as a social responsibility for businesses. The Labor Office also offers the free 'Labor Regulation Health Check' service to assist employers in adhering to regulations.
