Taiwan's Stock Market Edges Down by 10.4 Points, Top 5 Stocks by Volume Revealed

The Taipei stock market experienced fluctuations today, closing down 10.40 points at 20522.59, a decline of 0.05%. The trading volume reached NT$302.92 billion. The weighted index opened at 20353.88 points, with an intraday high of 20623.85 and a low of 20349.56. Excluding financial stocks, the index was at 17781.74 points, down 37.16 points.
The eight major sectors showed the following movements: the clay industry rose by 0.13%, food stocks declined by 0.17%, plastic stocks increased by 0.16%, textiles rose by 0.23%, the machinery and electronics sector fell by 0.46%, paper stocks rose by 0.15%, construction stocks dropped by 0.92%, and financial stocks increased by 1.21%. The number of bids was 18,641,995, while the number of asks was 8,345,390, resulting in a total transaction volume of 5,701,547.
By the end of trading, 736 stocks had risen, while 259 had fallen, and 67 remained unchanged. The top five stocks by trading volume were Evergreen Marine, China Airlines, Future ETF, Yuanta's Taiwan 50 Bear ETF, and CTBC Financial. The top five stocks by percentage gain were Regen-KY, Chinasand, Sheng Tai, Hwa Ling, and Tian Er Technology. Meanwhile, the largest losses were seen in Crown Power, King City, New Construction, Dayun Optoelectronics, and Agriculture Forest.
